Registration

Web registration is no longer available. On-site registration will include a processing fee of $75. The registration for the Symposium is managed by NC State McKimmon Center team. The on-site registration rates (including the processing fee) are:
 

Standard rate - $ 575

Student rate - $ 275

 
The registration fee includes 3 lunches at the Symposium site, 2 evening receptions and a ticket for the Symposium banquet on Tuesday. Guest lunch and banquet tickets for accompanying persons are available.

Airport transportation

Taxis ($27-32) and rental cars are available at the airport - please check the links on the right. A convenient option for Bus/Van services has been provided by Carolina Livery Service at 919-957-1111. The fee for the service is $27/per person. If you are interested in using this service, please download this form and email it to carvanbus@aol.com. Please note that this shuttle service is NOT affiliated in any way with the Symposium and the McKimmon center. We have asked Carolina Livery to make this arrangement for the convenience of our attendees only; the organizers are not in any way responsible for the operation of this independent company.

Off Campus Housing

The deadline for early hotel reservations has expired. To reserve a room please call the hotels directly.

NEW: Due to the large demand for hotel accommodations, we have made arrangements with the Brownstone hotel near NCSU campus. A limited number of discounted rooms are available at the rates of $80/ single and $85.00/double. To reserve, please call the hotel at 1- 800-331-7919 and identify yourself as an attendee of the ACS Colloids and Surface Science Symposium. The Brownstone, like the other two hotels, is not within walking distance. However, the Brownstone guests can use the free NCSU bus shuttle service during the workdays (instructions and schedule will be provided at the hotel and symposium check-in).

Arrangements for off-campus housing have also been made with two local hotels: the Ramada Inn on Blue Ridge Road, and Hampton Inn and Suites on Hampton Woods Lane. Reservations at those facilities must be made on an individual basis. Limited bus service between the two hotels and the McKimmon Center will be provided.
 
Both sites had agreed to offer group rates for double and king rooms ($75.00 at the Ramada Inn, $79.00 at the Hampton Inn; the rates are subject to a 12.75% tax). When you call the hotels please identify yourself as attending the 82nd ACS Colloid & Surface Science Symposium. The cut-off dates for reservations are May 24 and May 15, 2008, for the Ramada Inn (1-800-441-4709) and the Hampton Inn & Suites (1-919-233-1798), respectively. For access to the group rate, reservations cannot be made on-line.
 

On-Campus Housing

The deadline for on campus housing registration has expired. On-campus housing will be in the Wolf Village Apartment complex, located less than a 10 minute walk from the McKimmon Center (regular shuttle bus service between Wolf Village and the McKimmon Center will be provided).
 
Each Wolf Village unit is divided into four one-person bedrooms with full-sized beds, two full bathrooms, a small living room, kitchen with microwave, stove, and refrigerator, a washer/dryer, and ceiling fans. The early registration daily room rate is $ 36.50. Optional high speed internet access in the rooms will be available for $5.00/day (note that the McKimmon center provides free wireless in the conference facilities). Wolf Village parking for the full duration of the Symposium will be available for $12.00.
